Happy New Year to  One and ALL !!!
Now it's time to condition ourselves for the upcoming POLAR BEAR PLUNGE..... BURRRR. and of course, food and entertainment.

Come out one and all. Welcome in the New Board AND take the ICY PLUNGE.... if you dare.
Bring a dish to share (starting at 3PM), watch or swim with the Polar Bears and enjoy the Magic of Brian LaPalme who brings a new show to the Orchid Club.
Admission is $2.00 at the door, no advanced ticket sales.  BYOB.

Cocktail Party

Tickets for the December 3rd Holiday Cocktail Party will be on sale Monday & Tuesday, Nov. 24th & 25th, from 9 - 11 AM in the Orchid Club Lobby.
Tickets are $12 for Members and $20 for Guests.

On the Menu for the Cocktail Party is:

 Meatballs

Mini Franks 

 Rack of Beef

Turkey Breast

Plus mini buns & condiments

 

 Cold Station: 

 Devilled Eggs 

 Cheese & Crackers 

 Stuffed Mushrooms 

 Pickled beets

3-bean Salad

Shrimp Station: 

 Cocktail Shrimp 

 Pickled Hearing

Dessert Table: 

Members are asked to bring their favorite HOLIDAY DESERT

 

New Officers

 Please welcome the UMC's New Officers for 2015.  congratulations to Hal, Margaret and Ruth for stepping up to their new positions. Thanks too to  Sharon, Bill, Doug and Adele for all of their support as well as Rich Bangle (not pictured) for his contribution in the culinary department.  By all of us helping out, we can continue to improve the Club.

Thanks to all that came out and made the evening a great success. The pot roast, ham and salmon were fabulous, thank you Sue and staff.  The music was wonderful, the dance floor was full, thanks to The Rainbow Connection.
A special thanks to all that brought canned goods to benefit the local food pantry.  Donations are especially appreciated at this time of year.

Don't forget the Christmas Cocktail Party on December 3rd.  Tickets will be on sale in the OC Lobby, Monday & Tuesday, Nov. 24th & 25th from 9 - 11 AM.

The“HOLIDAY PARTY” is Wednesday, November 12th at the Palm Grove 6-10 pm

Ticket Sales for the “HOLIDAY PARTY” is at the Orchid Club,

Monday Oct. 20th and Tuesday Oct. 21st  9 – 11 AM each day.

Cost:  $20 PP Members  &  $30 PP Guests

FOOD: Catered by “Royal Oaks” Pot Roast, Salmon Dill, Cherry Ham and more.

Entertainment:   The “RAINBOW CONNECTION” a 5-Piece Band with Vocalists.

Welcome Back

We that stayed here in the "Florida Oven" over the summer do welcome all/some you travelers back.  I guess that when the snow flies, you will too!!
Though we'll still see some afternoon rain, that we desperately need for our lovely lawns, there's still plenty of hot weather ahead.

Ticket sales for the April  10^th Picnic will be 

Monday March 31st ONLY

from 9 – 11 AM in the Orchid Club Lobby.

$9 PP. (Includes entrance to the park.)  Remember the Picnic is for Members Only. (100 max.)

Main course will be Lee’s Chicken with fixen’s.

Members with last names N to Z please bring a dessert to share.

Horse races, Bingo, games, nature walk & more.

Bring your ticket for Door Prizes.

The "Picnic" will be Thursday April 10^th from 12 to ??.

We so much enjoy the “Crock Pot” dishes and other “bring something to share” occasions, we would like to offer the members the opportunity to share their recipes.

If you have a cherished recipe(s) that you would like to contribute to our “Upper Midwest Cookbook” please email them to Dorothy Green @  dzzgreen@gmail.com or drop them off in her cubby at 10941 SW 69th Cir, in Crescent Oaks. We will make the cookbooks available at a later date either via the email list or in hard copy.  Perhaps you may even be published in our Newsletter.
