The Polar Bear Party for January 1, 2013 has been MOVED.

The Palm Grove Hot Tub is DOWN so we're moving to the Orchid Club.

All else is the same.

New Years Day......3:00PM.......Orchid Club Auditorium

The Upper MidWest Club will have it's annual Polar Bear "Plunge" on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. 

BE one of the brave souls to make a SPLASH in the Orchid Club Pool.

New this year.............MAGIC

Magician, Brian LaPalme, will perform his magic act at 4:00PM

followed by a Potluck Dinner at 5:00.

Tailgate Party & Nominations

Well, it's that time of the year again, when the Snow Birds return to Oak Run, and THE CLUB begins it's new season functions. This Wednesday evening(9/12/12) will be the TAILGATE PARTY. It will also be the time to nominate new board members for the coming , 2013 & 2014 years. We have had volunteers for most of the board positions, but we are still searching for someone to fill the secretary position. Our club does not have a typical secretary position. The duties of our Secretary are to take minutes and help the President create the News letter by keeping him informed of what happened since the last letter and what are the upcoming events. This should be a full time resident if possible.
I am asking our membership for volunteers or nominations for any open positions. We have been blessed with the hard work and leadership of our past board members. It is now our turn to take up the reins and try to do as good a job as our past board has done.
It's always nice to enjoy the parties and outings, now is the time to put forth a little effort ourselves.
If you would like to be nominated or know of someone who would like to be nominated for a position, please be at the meeting on Wednesday, and call Dave Stebner  (352)732-2227 or Bill Priest  (937) 830-0518, before the meeting, so the names can be added to the Nomination List.

I hope every ones Summer is as hot as ours has been here in Oak Run.  If the rumors are true, some of you were hotter up North than we were in Sunny Florida.


Anyway, please read the Calender of Events "tab" for the most up to date concert and travel event schedule.
Please let Dave know if you are INTERESTED in going to any of these outings.  NO COMMITMENT NOW, just "are you thinking about attending one of these trips?"
I have been a Bill Cosby fan as far back as "Fat Albert" and "Why is there air?"  I'm not going to miss this !!

2012 Blogging Class

The next Computer Class is Friday, Jan. 6, 1:30PM to 3:30PM in the Orchid Club. This will be a repeat of the "Intro to Websites" class but will include additional information. If you missed the Dec.16 class because of holiday activities then be sure to come to this next class. If you were at the first class and want a refresher plus a chance to learn a few more tips then come again to the Jan 6 class. Bring your laptop so you can try out these tips and tricks right in class. Don't have a laptop? Don't worry, everyone is welcome. You don't have to sign up you just have to show up!
